Coriolis Effect

It came up in conversation today that the Coriolis Effect does not affect water draining out of wash basins or toilets in a noticeable way. I initially balked at this statement but upon more research found that this is true. The Coriolis Effect is most noticeable on big atmospheric events, such as hurricanes. But its effect is negligible on smaller things. Thought I would throw that out for others who thought the same thing. To think, all that time I spent in airplane bathrooms trying to tell when we crossed the equator.
